Rich and tearful tributes were paid by hundreds of people on November 3 who had gathered outside the Sector 34 Gurudwara in Chandigarh at the bhog ceremony and antim ardaas of Jaspal Bhatti who died in a road accident recently.
PEOPLE FROM various walks of life remembered the noted comedian, actor and producer with tearful eyes in the the presence of Savita and Raabiya, wife and daughter of Jaspal Bhatti, The close relatives, friends, fans and political leaders prayed for the peace of the departed soul. Union Railway Minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal, and actor Om Puri also attended the ceremony.
At the prayer meeting, the fans of Jaspal Bhatti were seen grief-struck due to his untimely and sudden demise. Many paid hearty tributes to the legendary Ulta-Pulta and Fop Show man and promised to move forward on the path of clean comedy with social messages he had created.
A Facebook message said: "Bhatti sahab, you will always remain the reason of crores of laughs and smiles till eternity!... May your soul rest in peace!"
Late Bhatti's last movie 'Power Cut' is running in cinemas with a good response from the audience.
