Telangana Bandh: Big loss to business in Andhra
Investments are going away and Andhra brand name is being eroded, Hyderabad and AP suffering a great business loss due to Telangana and Samaikaya agitations.

AS MANY as 165 passenger trains’ and more than 4000 busses have been cancelled owing to the bandh on Wednesday in Telangana area. The capital City Hyderabad and all district head quarters wear a desert look due to closure of shops and no movement of vehicles. Barring a few incidents bandh is going on peacefully. Section of 144 has been imposed in the entire Hyderabad city.


Among the cancelled trains 87 are passenger/express, 46 suburban and 32 MMTS. Some 2500 lorries have stopped at Vijayawada on national High way No. 9.


The worst thing is the American intelligence has warned US citizens, not to go to Andhra Pradesh where situation is not good because of the agitation. This is being highlighted in the Telugu News Channels. Already tourist numbers to Andhra Pradesh has come down since agitation begun.


The most worrying thing is investments are also going back as so many industrialists see no security. The brand image of Hyderabad has lost temporarily at least. Some of the investors, who want to invest are re-thinking and already the CII summit which was to hold in Hyderabad has already announced its decision to hold it in Chennai.



Because of this an investment of Rs. 25,000 crores is in the process of being lost, according to industrialists. CII AP Chapter Chief Y. Harichandra Prasad and its national committee members BV Mohana Reddy, AP Chamber of Commerce President K. Hrichandra Prasad Software Exports Association Prsident M. Narasimha Rao said that heavy loss occurred to pharma, hotel and software sectors for all these Hyderabad has become a branded city for the last few years. They said a big loss was shifting away of the CII summit. Every bandh will cost them at least hunread corers of rupees, they stated.


Chief Minister Rosaiah has observed that Bharat Forge has dropped its investment proposal and decided to go to Gujarat. Peugeot, Kaparo, Lakshmi Mittal, Brandrix, J.P Morgan and Stanely and leading pharma group ESAI have decided to shift away to some other place.


Bulk drug industry alone suffered a loss of Rs.500 crore in the last 20 days.  Usually 1500 trucks go out the state with drug loads from Hyderabad but now because of the strike only 150 loads are going.
