1. Polavaram should be declared as national project, financed and executed by the centre; the proposed management boards for the inter-state rivers of Godavari and Krishna to solve the water crisis of all the regions should be asked to take up linkage project of rivers - Godavari, Krishna, Tungabhadra and Pennar financed and executed by the centre.
2. Instead of setting up new IIT, NIT etc for Andhra Pradesh the degrees should be awarded by one University in the state for the courses like Medical, Open (Telugu), Horticultural, Veterinary, Agriculture etc and it be awarded central university status. Its infrastructure, staff etc can be utilized by the students of all the regions.
3. Expert committee should study alternatives for a new capital for Andhra Pradesh - It should be mentioned in the bill about the places proposed for the capital and after necessary discussion with elected representatives and people of the state the capital should be notified. It should also be made mandatory that Center would finance and execute its infrastructure etc.
4. Security of life, liberty and property of all those who reside in the common capital is mandatory. Legislation is must in this respect so that none is disturbed even after 10 years.
As the Congress' elected representatives from Seemandhra lack unity, vision and does not have a political will ; so the party has taken a decision in a partisan manner. One hope that, the main opposition parties will apply their mind and expertise to facilitate friendly bifurcation with equitable justice to all the regions on all key issues.
They have to do it for the electoral gains as well as improve to their image among the voters.
