Terming the situation as very serious, Rao said that the UPA government as well as the Congress party should console the people of Andhra Pradesh by giving a clarification on the statement given by Chidambaram regarding formation of Telangana.
PRIME MINISTER Dr Manmohan Singh on Friday, December 11, said that nothing will be done in haste on the issue of the Telengana state issue. Senior Congress leader K S Rao had said that the Prime Minister had told the delegation of Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh, who hail from non-Telangana regions that nothing will be done in haste.
KS Rao said that the situation in Andhra Pradesh was very tense and people were very unhappy with the turn of events. Terming the situation as very serious, Rao said that the UPA government as well as the Congress party should console the people of Andhra Pradesh by giving a clarification on the statement given by Chidambaram regarding formation of Telangana. He also said that people in coastal Andhra and Rayalseema were very upset with the statement made by home minister. The senior Congress leader also criticised the TRS chief K Chandrashekhar for fomenting trouble in the name of creating a separate Telangana state.
