The indecisiveness of the Centre on the complex and vexed issue is further worsening the situation. If the Centre wants to continue consultations and form an opinion leisurely, let the state be brought under President's Rule to restore normalcy.
EVERYBODY LIVING in Hyderabad and surrounding areas, including Telengana, were happy to note that areas around Hyderabad and other places in Telangana have started to become an educational hub as well as hospital tourism hub. Teachers, especially from Telangana, have failed to fight along with the parents regarding the issue of overloaded school bags of school children, fee hike in the private schools, three language formula which was changed into two, and the sudden change in pattern of exams in the middle of last year. Teachers as well as students in schools are not able to concentrate and cope with the new pattern of exams, and the demand for indefinite closure of educational institutions as sought by the stir leaders. Their explanations are unacceptable. Statehood stir is an irrelevant matter to the school or college-going students.

One would have appreciated if they had boycotted conducting quarterly exams, and continued to teach and complete the syllabus as scheduled in government schools as well as requested the privately managed schools not to conduct the quarterly exams. By not doing so they lost the sympathy of parents and made them come on to streets. Teaching is a noble profession, let Telangana supporters not make the students a scapegoat on a political issue. No leader or government can give guarantee that proper education or employment will be provided to them even after bifurcation.
The state and central government had the knowledge that if coal production in Singareni was stopped, power generation in the state as well as neighboring states would get affected severely. Both the governments failed to take seriously the strike notice given by the employees. If proper strategy was evolved by both the governments, power crisis would not have arisen. Lack of vision as well as improper planning led to irreparable loss and created unrest in other parts of the country.
A stage has come for the centre to come out boldly with a proposal that satisfies people of all the regions in the state, and people accept it gracefully. If the Centre wants to continue consultations and form an opinion leisurely to bring back the normalcy in the state, then it should boldly impose President's Rule immediately.
