GAO RFID Inc has released an active RFID tag with temperature sensor. The RFID tag is intended for identification and location of items in cold logistics or medicine transportation. It also has the ability to collect and transmit temperature data in real time.
This temperature sensing active tag, model 127003, operates at the frequency of 2.45GHz and withstands temperatures ranging from -50°C to 150°C; and it works efficiently even in harsh environments. The tag is ideal for monitoring refrigerated items en route and can trigger an alarm if a tagged item's temperature falls beyond preset limits. It has a maximum read range of 100m as well as a long battery life of four years. The active tag employs an effective anti-collision solution, which ensures one hundred tags can be read simultaneously. Moreover, the highly accurate tag is an ideal tool for identifying the exact time of a temperature change. "Active RFID technologies offer many benefits over passive technologies for certain applications," says Dr Frank GAO, CEO of GAO Group. "These new active tags take full advantage of such benefits."
