If the UPA government wants to build its image in a proper manner it should avoid nasty comments from its ministers on common man. The common man is not cattle but is the most valuable instrument of democracy.
I ADMIRE Shashi Tharoor, the state minister for external affairs. He is a great author and a great Indian. He proved that bureaucrats can also become politicians. But whether they become good or bad politician, it is their deal. Be it sportstars or silver screen stars, their ultimate aim is to enter politics. Because power is like opium, it is a good medicine to one's ego.
Indian National Congress is an aristocratic party. Their leaders consider themselves as aristocrats. Gandhi family, the party's feudal owners are the most aristocratic people in India. United Progressive Alliance government is a combination of bureaucrats and aristocrats. In the cabinet, Union Minister of state Shashi Tharoor, is one of the high profile ministers. He has been termed as the twitter minister (with one lakh followers). Recently, he has been in the news for some wrong news. Firstly, for staying in the hotel instead of minister house. But he made it clear that he was staying at the hotel at his own expense and didn't use a single penny of the tax payers.
This clearly defines that he is a minister who does not want to be with the common man, he wants to protect his aristocratic mentality. His staying in the hotel was against the party policy of cost cutting.
Now, the latest hit by Tharoor came when he termed Congress president and AICC general secretary as holy cows and the common man as cattles. Since independence, India was ruled by Congress ministers. They were the office bearers for a major period post independence. Yet the common man in India are less privileged, they are like cattles, it is not their fault. But it is the fault of the politicians.
Don't blame us for our misfortunes. The common people have voted UPA to power again with lot of expectations. Congress says that they are with the common man but what about their ministers? Tharoor may not know the problems of common man because he is not one among them. He can call his leaders holy cows. But when he calls the common man cattle, naturally it bleeds. Prime Minister should take the issue seriously and warn the minister regarding his remark.
If the UPA government wants to build its image in a proper manner it should avoid nasty comments from its ministers on common man. The common man is not cattle but is the most valuable instrument of democracy.
.WELL THIS PERSON SHOULD KNOW IT WAS THE SAME CLASS IN WHICH LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI USED TO ENJOY TO TRAVEL, BECAUSE HE FELT HE WAS NO DIFFERENT FROM ANYONE ELSE IN THE CLASS.
.Shahi Tharoor has honestly expressed the views of politicians regarding common people of the country. He has made a mistake not going in line with party dictum to camouflage their crimes made against common people under the show of austerity and false show of being pro common people. In their actual deeds and policies they along with dirty money hoarders, bureaucrats and their progeny have made common man resourceless and helpless.
