The 4th pillar of the Democracy is on Sale in Orissa state.
Though many state and national level known news channels witnessed the agitation for separate state hood for Kosal in Bhubaneswar, none of them reported this in their media.
THOUSANDS OF activists of Orissa’s regional party Kosala Kranti Dal on Wednesday 23rd Dec, 2009 staged a demonstration in front of Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar demanding separate Koshal State by carving out 11 districts and one sub-division and a block from Orissa.

Encouraged by Union government’s approval to separate Telangana State recently, agitators under the banner of Koshal Kranti Dal (KKD) submitted a memorandum addressing the Governor in support of a separate State. The activists gathered near the state Assembly building and marched on a main street of state capital Bhubaneswar, carrying posters and banners.

Though many state and national level known news channels witnessed the agitation in Bhubaneswar, none of them reported this in their media.  This proved that nothing can stand in front of money power and influence, not even press. Though the print media showed some responsible ness by bringing out the news but the media channels who claims to have a larger reach closed their eyes to what happened in front  of them.

"Economically, Koshal region has the richest deposit of minerals like coal, bauxite, mica, iron ore, lime, phosphorous, manganese and has potential rivers including Mahanadi, Tel, Suktel, Ong, Indravati, Brahmani, and it's vast hydro electricity ability", said KDD president Pramod Mishra here.

A public meeting was later held in which dozens of speakers of the regional party described how their regions were continuously neglected by the state and Central governments. “We have separate Kosali language. Our culture and traditions are different. Our regions are the poorest in India despite having huge mineral and forest wealth,” party head Pramod Mishra said in his address. “Only a separate Kosal state can improve the condition of our people,” he said.
