The A to Z of large hadron collider (LHC)
Here is A to Z information on the recent experiment (LHC) carried out by scientists, known as the Big Bang. The information gives an individual a basic idea of the experiment. We hope that the experiment brings positive developments for mankind.

IN ORDER to unravel the mystery of the universe and verify the Big Bang theory, the LHC or large hadron collider was triggered on September 10, 2008. The project director, Professor Lyn Evan, said on the occasion, "It’s a fantastic moment and we can now look forward to a new era. Here, the vital information concerning LHC has been organised in the form of an ABC verse to make it easier to read and understand.

A: Accelerating protons to energy levels of seven trillion electron volts

B: Big Bang theory is the focal point of experimental verification

C: Collisions of protons to be studied extensively

D: Dark matter to be investigated

E: European Organisation for Nuclear Research is conducting the experiment

F: Fourteen years spent to build the machine

G: Graphite rods to be used to stop the process in case of any eventuality

H: Higgs bosons to be investigated

I: India has contributed Rs 150 crores and lent scientists to the experiment

J: Jacking up the conditions for the primordial fireball, a trillionth second after the Big Bang

K: Key to unlocking the origin and evolution of the universe

L: Large Hadron Collider is the name of the machine

M: Minus 271 degrees Celsius is the temperature

N: New era begins in high energy physics

O: Other particles are endowed with mass due to Higgs bosons

P: Proton speed to reach close to that of light

Q: Quark particle groups are called hadrons

R: Research results will be available after 20 years

S: Superconducting coils will keep protons in circular path due to their magnetic field

T: Total expenditure on the experiment is USD 5 billion

U: Unfolding the origin of the universe

V: Very high energy-level collisions of sub-atomic particles possible

X: Extra mysterious dark matter be detected

Y: Year 2008 is a landmark year in the history of particle physics

Z: Zero defect in the control of experiment and no cause of fear.

This experiment is being conducted on such a large scale that LHC is being called ‘a discovery machine’, ‘a why machine’ and ‘a cosmic variance’

.earlier i dont know anything about this large hadron collider.. but now after i read this article i have some picture in my mind, regarding what the Big Bang theory will be..!
.Hi,my name is ABHINAV and I am too happy with the progress of science. it is really a great experience to know about it.I am looking forward for the results of it.
.will they b able to answer a simple Question? when a star is at normal state before becoming a Dark matter,,,it has some mass.when it proceeds to become a neutron star or after that a Dark Matter,What is that which increases its mass so that it gets infinite or at least to such a scale that it gets Infinite Gravity? How it increases the mass?can Higgs Bosons,if found to them explain it?
.Good for general public
