The ABC of Bani of Guru Gobind Singhji
In Jaipur, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is being celebrated today with fervour and zeal despite the inclement wet and cold weather. All the local Gurudwaras were lighted up last night, and the main celebration is being held at Raja Park Gurudwra in the city today. On the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti the message of the Guru enshrined in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib is stressed.

The Guru's message, also called 'Guru Gobind Singh's Bani', covers the major aspects of righteous human living which one needs to inspect on a daily basis. The central message comes is the concept of "Love for the Lord and his creation," and the constant "Remembrance of His Name," asserts the SikhiWiki website.

Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, also known as Dasven Padshah Ka Granth, is the second most important scripture of Sikhism, and sets out the ideas, thoughts and guidelines as a part of the Sikh initiation 'Khande di Pahul' ceremony and their daily prayers 'Nitnem.'

"I utter only the name of the Infinite and so attain unto the Supreme Being. I wear not matted hair, nor ear-rings, nor have regard for any such ritual, and do only what God bids me do. I repeat only the Name of One God who fulfils us, at all places. No, I utter not another's name, nor establish another God. I dwell upon the Name of the Infinite One and so realise the essence of the Supreme Light. I give thought to none else, nor utter another's name. O God, with Thy one Name I am imbued. I have no other pride. Yea, I utter only Thy Name and eradicate my endless sins," propounds Guru Gobind Singhji in his message in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.

Here is the ABC of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.

A: Aim of human life is the slvation through the belief that there is 'ONLY one God' and to rememeber that who only recognises the one God, puts no faith in alms, penance and austerities; and in whose heart the light of the perfect one shines - only can be recognised as a pure member of the Khalsa.

B: Boon of being humans is that we should never hesitate from good and righteous deeds.

C: Consider the whole human race as one and see all human beings as the reflection of one and the same one God.

D: Detest rituals and see their futility by dwelling on these words : "Some worship stones, put them on their heads or hang them round their necks./ Some insist that God is in the South, others bow their heads to the West. / Some fools worship idols, others waste their time with worshipping the dead. / The whole world is entangled in false ceremonies and has not found God's secret."

E: Evolve in-self in the light of love since God is realised only through love.
