The Big Fat Bollywood weddings

A number of Bollywood wedding have been making news in recent times. Right from what the couple would wear to what the guests would eat - everything has been covered by the media. The top five lavish wedding of Bollywoods that did not shy away from spending a bomb or being stylish - is a matter of admiration for some and jealousy for others.

WE HAVE seen actors and actresses walking down the aisle or applying the vermilion a numerous times on the silver screen but when they take the step towards matrimony in their real life it is no less dramatic or stylish. With a high profile guest list they also have designer clothes, and sometimes, exotic foreign locations for the wedding. The top five lavish wedding of recent times are as follows.

Vivek Oberoi, who used to make headlines more for his relationship with Aishwarya Rai than for his movies, made it to the list at number 5 - although he did not marry Aishwarya. He married Priyanka Alva on 29 October 2010 in a big ceremony. Right from Prem Chopra to politicians, LK Advani also made it to the guest list. Oberoi wore a maroon coloured Sherwani and turban, which made him look like a king with the sword that hung at his side. Priyanka was looking gorgeous in her similar coloured lehenga.

While Sunidhi Chauhan married at an early age and got divorced but with her second marriage she wanted life to be perfect - including the wedding. She had a lavish wedding, ranked 4 ,lwith beau Hritesh Sonik. In a reception in Mumbai, a large number of other singers and musicians came to bless the happy couple. Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan with wife, and Kavita Krishnamurthi were also decked up for the happy occasion.

Number 3 should be given to the newly weds Imraan Khan and Avantika. The nephew of Aamir Khan got hitched to his long-time sweetheart on 16 January 2011. Although they married in court but the reception was a grand affair. Orchids, expensive clothes and designer jewelery was seen at the reception.

Esha Deol, the daughter of two very famous parents, tried her hand in acting but no one would miss her from the silver screen. However, her wedding was quite the talk of the B town - as she got married in a splendid ceremony at the Hare Rama Hare Krishna mandir. Hema Manili made sure that nothing was amiss in the wedding, and Dharmendra was also present to see things through. Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukherjee Fardeen Khan and yesteryear heartthrob Vyjayanthimala, were also present to make it a memorable occasion for the bride and the groom.

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'souza take the highest spot in this list - as theirs was the most covered and talked about wedding of Bollywood. After 8 years of being in a relationship, they tied the knot in a church as well as a Marathi-style wedding. Only the elite of the elites were present at the wedding, and several politicians also made it to the wedding - owing to the groom's father's connections.
