The book 'The Message of the Qur'an' is controversial & topical
'The Message of the Qur'an' penned by Muhammad Asad, a Polish Jew convert to Islam, emphasizes the theory of one God and Allah's compassion. The book, which was first published a few decades back, is considered contemporary as well as scholarly.
MUHAMMAD ASAD's translation of the Qu'ran, “The Message of the Qur'an”, is the most read translation of the Qur'an in the west among English-speaking Muslims. The book represents an accurate and widely accepted understanding of the Arabic text of Qur'an by the Western world.

While the book has since been translated into several other languages, this particular translation is banned in Saudi Arabia, as it allegedly deviates from the orthodox interpretation of some passages of the Qur'an.

Asad's book is considered the foremost translation having a rational interpretation of the Arabic text. It is one of the most consulted books by those who pursue Islamic studies as an academic subject, and other scholars doing research on Islam as a religion.

The author of the book is a Polish Jew who converted to Islam, and translated it into English, with emphasis on interpreting its essence.

The book, with 998 pages is published by Kazi Publications, and has an index as a ready-reference for specific aspects of the tenets of Islam. The book, as per Asad, emphasises oneness of God and compassion.

The other distinguishing features of the book are that it is has a prologue by the distinguished British Muslim Gai Eaton, and also includes original artwork by internationally renowned artist and scholar Dr. Ahmed Moustafa.
