The Famous Five of Indian cricket are now the Failed Five
It is really strange that the 'Famous Five' of Indian cricket are today the most despised lot of cricketers and have turned into villains - they have turned today into the failed five waiting to leave the scene in disgrace.

THE FOURTH Test in Adelaide could not bring about any change in the fortunes of the Indian team. Once again Virender Sehwag fell to an adventurous stroke. Once again Rahul Dravid was bowled out. Once gain Gautam Gambhir made a start on which he could not capitalize. Once again, Sachin Tendulkar could not come anywhere near his coveted century.

And – the less said about VVS Laxman, the better. Once again he failed. He should have graciously made way for Rohit Sharma in the 4th Test match. That would have made him a hero – not a villain, as at present.

Young Virat Kohli got a chance to show his abilities and, in spite of facing sledging of Australian professionals, he score a century – a well deserved one. He has sent a strong signal to the selectors – let the Famous Five go. There are a number of ‘fives’ waiting in the wings for an opportunity. Give them a chance to redeem the lost prestige of the country. The stalwarts of Indian cricket who have served the country so well for years must now make way for the next generation.
