The Kapil Sharma Show may land in legal trouble after nurses file police complaint
Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma and his new comedy show on Sony Television may land into legal mess after number of nurses and medical students in Amritsar filed a police complaint against him alleging that nursing profession is projected in a "vulgar" way on his show.

According to media reports, nurses said that Kapil Sharma presents their profession in a bad taste. They said that he was often seen implying that nurses were of "loose character" and "easily available".

Reportedly, the police has assured the nurses that appropriate action would be taken on their complaint.

Punjab Nursing Association president Raj Bedi Anand demanded an immediate apology from Kapil Sharma, who is also from Amritsar. He also criticized Navjot Singh Sidhu, BJP's Rajya Sabha member from Amritsar for being part of the show.

"How can Sidhu be a part of a show like this that demeans someone's profession? He keeps laughing at jokes made about the medical profession, including those on doctors, even when his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu (Amritsar-East MLA) is a doctor!" asked Bedi.

The protesting nurses in Amritsar also objected to the uniform being worn by Rochelle Rao, who plays the role of a nurse on the comedy show.
