THE LIBERTARIAN Party is now the first political party in the United States of America that has resolved the dilemma of the presidential and the vice- presidential candidate. The time has come to talk about the life of Bob Barr and Wayne Allyn Root so that the people of the US could get to know them better.
Barr, who is the presidential candidate of the Libertarian Party, started like most Americans of his time. He became a Democrat, a Republican, before finally becoming a Libertarian. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on November 5, 1948, and his parents were members of the US military. He attended the American School of Lima, Peru, Colegio Franklin Delano (in Peru), and graduated from the American School of Tehran, Iran, in 1966.
The presidential candidate went to the University of Southern California and became a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (of which he is still a member) and the Young Democrats of America. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and later completed his studies at George Washington University where he received his Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Law degree. He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA) from 1971 to 1978 until he moved to Georgia to practice law and become active with the Republican Party.
Barr was a US attorney for the northern district of Georgia and president of the Southeastern Legal Foundation before entering into politics as a House of Representative member for the Republican Party. He was a maverick as he opposed the encroachment of privacy and civil liberties as well as defended marriage as being between a man and a woman. Barr was also against abortion as he believes in the right to life from womb to tomb. However, he was in favour of people carrying arms for their defence. He also supported the impeachment of Bill Clinton although he regrets having supported the Patriot Act.
He converted to the Libertarian Party in 2006 and became a member of its national committee in 2008 since the Republican Party had been a party of ’more government and more intrusion’. His defining moment was his victory as the presidential nominee from the Libertarian Party.
Wayne Allyn Root took a different route to the Libertarian Party. He was born on the July 20, 1961, in Mount Vernon, New York, and was a famous businessman, TV sports personality, and best selling author. He is also the founder as well as current chairman of Winning Edge International Inc.
Root left the Republican Party for the Libertarian Party since both parties have converted the US into a society that is eventually bankrupting future generations. He has stated that he wants to govern using common sense based on the founding fathers of the United States of America with the restoration of fiscal discipline, personal responsibility, rugged individualism, and individual rights and freedoms. He has, as his political idols, Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater but is a believer in the idea of most social issues being determined at the local level.
The vice-presidential candidate was running for the presidential nomination of the Libertarian Party when he lost to Bob Barr. His defeat was sweet since he won the vice-presidential nomination by direct vote of his party.
I would like to express my best wishes to Barr and Root and would like to invite them to be personally interviewed so that they could present their platform to the people of America and the world.
