The MBSI, IBC and BBW hold 2nd International Dhamma Conference at Buddhagaya
Buddhagaya: The 2nd International Dhamma Conference is scheduled to be held on the 19th November 2015 at the Kalachakra Grounds. His Excellency the Governor of Bihar has kindly consented to inaugurate the Conference. The grand event is expected to be attended by more than three thousand Venerable monks, dignitaries and devotees from various countries inculding India.

The theme of the Conference is "Words of the Buddha: Awakening Global Consciousness". About eleven countries shall be represented by the venerable monk speakers. They are from India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Japan, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan etc. The Conference will also be addressed by the Vice Chancellors of three Universities - Prof. Md. Ishtique from Magadh University, Prof. Dr. Ravindra Panth from Nava Nalanda Mahavihara and Ven. Dr. Lobsang Norbu Shastri from Central University for Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi.

The organisers of this Conference are the Maha Bodhi Society of India, International Buddhist Council of Bodhgaya, Be Buddhawajana World, Bangkok, Thailand and International Tourism Association of India.

The first Conference was held last year in the premises of the Maha Bodhi Society of India, Buddhagaya Centre on 11th December 2014, which was a part of the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of the founder of the Maha Bodhi Society of India, Srimat Anagarika Dharmapala. This year's Conference is being organised on a larger scale to extend its benefits to a greater number of people.

The 'Words of the Buddha' meaning, the teachings of the Supremely Enlightened One, which are excellent in the beginning, excellent at the middle and also excellent at the end- all time beneficial, good for one and all. The true teachings of the Buddha should be disseminated to all corners of the universe so that all beings may live and lead a peaceful life and help promote the environment of peace, happiness, fearlessness, amity, fraternity on global level.

The one day programme shall begin with peace procession in the morning, puja-prayer in the Maha Bodhi Vihara, Sanghadana and Inaugural session at noon to be followed by Conference Session to be concluded in the evening. And to proceed to the Maha Bodhi Mahavihara to participate in the candle light procession. The whole event is being generously sponsored by the International Tourism Association of India, Varanasi, U.P., and India.
