According to Kabir, all life was an inter-play of the personal soul (Jivatma) and Supreme Soul or God (Paramatma) and salvation was the process of bringing these two into union. In nutshell, Kabir firmly believed that the kingdom of God was within each individual and life's ultimate purpose was to awaken the divinity from within.
In one of his couplets, Kabir says that between the grinding stones of cravings and aversions the whole world is being crushed with none able to see the truth that is beyond all dualities.
Kabir was against idol worship and preached that the Divine is within and without, one can realize Him within himself and at the same time see Him everywhere all around and thus He is not confined to Idols, symbols nor does He dwell on snow capped peaks, nor dwell in churches, temples and mosques.
