The mobile: A revolution in communication
The cell has become a primary communication tool. One could make a call on it, receive or send a message, apart from using it to fulfil entertainment needs. One can use it as a camera, be it still or moving, listen to songs, watch and read news etc.
REMEMBER HOW people had to go hunting at far off places to find a telephone, so that they could converse with their near and dear ones. They used to wait for a long time to receive a call, in front of the house or haveli of some sarpanch or mukhia. However, the mobile phone has also had negative effects on adults and chldren alike. No doubt, it is one of the finest and most sophisticated instrument for communication of the modern world to be invented with its most supportive features. However, it will be considered as one of the most dangerous and sophisticated instrument for the entire world. A simple incident; I was on my way to the hostel when two college going girls, both of them on a bike at a speed of 40kmph, who were chatting on their cell phones at a crossing , were hit by a car rushing by. They fell on the road and sustained several injuries. The bike was throughly smashed but they were lucky to survive the incident. Further, it has became one of the easiest and safest mediums to create and distribute pornography. There are many obscene messages, images and videos (as MMS clips) shared around the world with this medium. Recently there was a chaos at one of our cities; about a video clip shot by a schoolboy through his cell with camera of him engaging in sexual activities with a girl from his school. Even some big man was found involved in the incident, later. Even in exams this medium has become useful for the cheaters. We all know about the disadvantages of this instrument but still use it. There must be some strict law for this. Moreover, it is our own duty to avoid this, and tell others not to do so.
