Amrita Rao (28): You blink and you may miss her modest frame. But she has oodles of acting talent. She started out as a model but her debut flick Ab Ke Baras (2002) was not impressive. Ishq Vishk (2003), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Vivah (2006) brought her both hits and acclaim. Heyy Baby (2007) and Welcome To Sajjanpur (2008) made her establish herself as an actress. And with Short Kut (2009) she has changed her image from simple to sexy. Another Madhuri Dixit in the making.

Priyanka Chopra (27): This former Miss World 2000 has definitely added to the fun quotient in Bollywood flicks. Beginning with Tamil movies, she jumped onto the Bollywood bandwagon and she tasted success with her second flick Andaaz (2003). She had another hit in Aitraaz (2004). Piggy chops as she is called by her Bollywood friends has had regular hits with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Krrish (2006) and Don (2008). She followed up these successes with Fashion and Dostana (2008). 2009 too appears to be rosy with both Kaminey and Shahid Kapoor bringing cheer for her. She sure is Ms Hit Wagon.

Katrina Kaif (25): Kat as she is known in the industry, holds the magic wand in her hand. Blockbusters are her second name. Even Akshay Kumar cannot deliver hits without her. She is the lucky mascot for many heroes. After Sridevi, she became the sole ‘actress’ to deliver hits with/without pairing with saleable heroes. Luck and success are courting her (along with Salman Khan). She will be seen in Blue, Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, De Dana Dan, Rajniti and Padosan. She is definitely the undisputed Queen of Bollywood.

Asin Thottumkal (23): She comes from the Malayalam-speaking state of Kerala. Her entry into Bollywood was with the blockbuster hit Ghajani (2008). Suddenly, everyone wants to know about her. Heroes are eager to pair opposite her. With London Dreams opposite Salman Khan, she has shifted bag and baggage to Mumbai. After all, it makes sense to be near one's dreams.

Deepika Padukone (23): With a dream debut opposite Shahrukh Khan in the hit Om Shanti Om (2007) and that too in a double role, she couldn’t have asked for more. A couple of flops later, she has delivered the year’s biggest opener and hit Love Aaj Kal (2009). The movie has taken the nation by storm and it is repeating the success abroad too. A sure shot Katrina Kaif 2. We can look forward to Love 4 Ever. Life both on professional and personal front (with Ranbir Kapoor) seem to be doing well.

Kangana Ranaut (22): If not her movies, her on-off relationship with Adhyayan Suman has kept her in the news. Her debut Gangster (2006) was a super hit. With wavy hair and unconventional looks, she had made an impact on viewers. She went on a hit spree with Life In A..Metro (2007), Fashion (2008), Raaz - The Mystery Continues (2009). She has several movies lined up for release – Vaada Raha, Ek Niranjan, Kites, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, No Problem, Actor and Tanu Weds Manu. Kites is another sure shot prospective hit. Sky is the limit for this girl.

Genelia D’Souza (21): Geenu has certainly hit the marquee. With a fade-out debut in Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003) she made a comeback with a blockbuster hit in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008). She made waves with her ads with Amitabh Bachchan and K Shrikant. Being a superstar in the Telugu industry was not enough. Being ad queen too was not enough. She has replaced Rani Mukherjee in the Fanta ad and Preity Zinta in the Perk ad. She is a youth icon. She has now firmly set her eyes on Bollywood. Her next release Life Partner (2009) is carrying good pre-release reports.

Jiah Khan (21): Nafisa Khan changed her name after Angelina Jolie’s movie Gia. Life couldn’t have been any better. It is alleged she is Aamir Khan’s step sister. That would have made it easier for her to secure a role in Ghajini (2008). She was to debut in Tumsa Nahin Dekha (2004) but finally debuted in Nishabd (2006) opposite grand granddad Amitabh Bachchan. The film sank without a trace but she was noticed. She has that something in her. She has a stay value that will make her survive. That will be seen in her forthcoming releases Housefull and Aap Ka Saaya.

Anushka Sharma (21): With a dream debut opposite Shahrukh Khan in the blockbuster Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), she is the girl next door. Her earlier modelling priorities have changed. She has shifted from Karnataka to Mumbai. Age is on her side and offers keep pouring in. She has a two-movie deal with the Yash Raj banner. And that is just the beginning. Let’s wait and watch what she has to offer.
