The Pasta Bowl Company in Gurgaon: A review
When a friend asked me out for dinner I was up for some staid, run off the mill restaurant in one of the flashy malls dotted in the millennium city of Gurgaon, but I was pleasantly surprised as the evening unfolded. Tucked in between various cafes at the Cross Point Mall in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon, I discovered Italy. The Pasta Bowl Company, with its live kitchen and livelier ambiance, it was a treat for the eye as well as the tongue.
With a space to seat approximately 22 people at one go, the place is cosy with colourful chairs, a bookcase full of books and walls filled with framed pictures of Italy. A glass door on one side of the restaurant opens to the balcony, which gives a clear view of the city. Quaint and very lively, this place should be given a thumbs up for the ambiance.
You can make your own pasta and go crazy on the plate. Although the waiters are well versed in the varieties of pasta and would gladly tell you what does not mix, one can just be creative here. Built on the concept of making your own pasta, they do have a menu, which is quite reasonable. According to Zomato two people can easily have a sumptuous meal in just INR 1300.
Having ordered Cappelletti with red sauce, garlic bread with cheese and Chilled melon mint and Tropicali, we enjoyed the quick service, soothing music and the company. The Cappalletti was fresh with sufficient cheese. Garlic bread with cheese was a surprise as they had added some fresh herb to the recipe, which had made it flavorsome and delicious. The drinks added to the already perfect dinner.
The only con in the entire place was the dearth of space. People were so closely seated that we could hear each others conversation, which was the only negative of the place. Apart from that the Pasta Bowl Company was an absolute delite.
