The real of meaning of truth
Truth is one of the most divine five letter word in the whole history of world. It is nothing but a fact or belief that is accepted as true. Now here only the question arises- which fact or belief? Your's or mine?
BASICALLY THE word truth has two forms - inner truth and the apparent truth. Inner truth is a belief which is true to our own self or in other words true to our soul. On the other hand, apparent truth is a belief that appears to be true but it differs from individual to individual. This form can be interpreted as false also if we compare other thoughts/views with ours. So the inner truth resembles apparent truth only slightly.

Inner truth: This is the utmost knowledge a person can gain during his lifetime. To know this, one doesn't require any college degree or a course. Though self study in form of knowing our own self is the first and the last step. All the religions and the holy books like - Quran, Gita, Bible has the same definition of inner truth- ‘truth is God’.

Apparent truth: As the name suggests, this truth only gives the glimpses of reality as it is based on one's own experiences of life. The conflict of thoughts and views can give wrong meaning of reality ie, which appears to be true but may or may not be true. There is no definition of right and wrong until and unless someone is not getting harmed due to that. In the eye of drunkard drinking is not bad. This fact appears to be true for him but is false in the eyes of others.
The conclusion of the above is that only apparent truth is the one which is known to almost all of us and based on that we can't jump to the reality. What we think is bad can be good for others. We should respect each and everyone's thought/views by keeping aside our ego and always keep the basic truth in our mind- ‘no one is alike’.

I have heard one story about Mulla Nasruddin and the story goes like this:

"Laws as such don’t make people better," said Mulla Nasruddin to the King; "They must practice certain things, in order to become attuned to inner truth."

The king decided that he could and would, make people observe the truth. He could make them practice truthfulness. So, he decided to impose a strange rule on the public.

His city was entered by a bridge. On this he built a gallows. The following day, when the gates were opened at dawn, the captain of the guard was stationed with a squad of troops to examine all who entered.

An announcement was made: "Everyone will be questioned. If he tells the truth, he will be allowed to enter. If he lies, he will be hanged."

Mulla stepped forward.
"Where are you going?"
"I am on my way," said Mulla slowly. “To be hanged, we don't believe you."
"Very well, if I have told a lie, hang me," Mulla shouted.

Now the guards were confused. They replied, "But if we hang you for lying, we will have made what you said come true."

"That's right: Mulla replied with a smile - now you know what truth is - your truth!"
