The son 'rises' or 'sets' the Congress party?

The grand 'Chintan Shivir' of the Congress party is now over. What message has it sent across the nation? Yes, you heart it right. Rahul Babu, not the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, would be the number two in the party. To convey this message, Congress Party should not have spent huge money on the meet, held at Jaipur. A statement from mother Sonia would have been enough to make the declaration.

The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has lost his status in the party one-and-half- year before, it is being inferred. Here afterwards, till the 2014 May General Elections Rahul Babu will be the de-facto Prime Minister for India and under his guidance the UPA-II Government will run.

Already in his thanks-giving first speech Rahul said that he would transform the nation. But he could not tell what transformation India needed and what would he do to achieve that. Instead he criticized the opposition parties indirectly.

He himself said that he had vast experience because of his eight-year-long service to the party. Is eight years enough to get number two position in the party? Many leaders who have worth and service of more than 30 years could not get to this post. The surprising thing is that a leader like Mani Shankar Aiyar has lauded Rahul and wants leadership be immediately given to him.

One thing to be noted in Indian elections is that corruption is not a problem at all. Voters never take it into consideration. Indian voters think all political leaders are corrupt except few and they don’t like to vote.

The UPA-I and II are the gifts of Andhra Pradesh or we can say the gift of Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy. During the 2009 elections 33 candidates won on Congress ticket from Andhra Pradesh. In 2014 elections, AP will go to polls without him. When he was alive he used to say “to make Rahul PM of this country he will strive hard to get 40 out of 42 seats”. Now the scene has reversed in Andhra Pradesh. At the behest of some leaders Congress party has projected him as a cheater. After throwing Jagan Mohan Reddy into Chanchalaguda Jail the winning chances of Congress have become much more diminished.

How would young Rahul correct the Andhra Pradesh Congress politics? There is only one way - bifurcate the state. If it was done they are in a hope to get 15 out of 17 seats in Telangana.
