The star studded Lakme Fashion Week
This years LFW showcased creations ranging from traditional to casual to chick. and ruling the ramps were the Bollywood stars again. Truely, this was one Fashion Week which will surely be talked about even after it's over.
LIKE EVERY year, Lakme Fashion Week in India was grand, colourful and very very successful. The show was spread over a span of five days, from September 18 to 22, 2009. The event this year had number of designers showcasing their collections. Each one had their own distinct styles and touch and feel.

The show made headline when stars walked the ramp for their favourite designers dressed in the best outfits. Sushmita Sen walked  for Vikram Phadnis dressed in an extremely gorgeous gold lehenga with a dash of green and stole the thunder. He showcased a comtemporary bridal collection bride with surface orientations catching the eye in most of the outfits. There was a riot of colours both subtle and bright giving it a perfect balance.

The stunning Sameera Reddy walked the ramp for mother daughter duo Neeta and Nishka Lulla on the very first day dressed in an extremely pretty white and beige saree, she was surely a show stopper with well toned abs. Neeta Lulla showcased an uber-glam fusion line of international and ethnic ensembles. While daughter Nishka had little kids walk the ramp dressed as fairies, Dia Mirza was the prettiest of fairies who made everyone go weak in the knees.

While Sushmita and Sameera  were dressed in tradidiotnal outifits, there was Deepika Padukone who walked the ramp for Gauri and Nainika, dressed in a classy black and white dress with a huge bow and red lips. Their debut at the Fashion Week was sure shot success with refined and classy collections with a love and romance theme supported with a colour palette of red, white and black.

Yummy mummy Malaika Arora sashayed the ramp dressed in a yummy orange one shouldered dress for Mandira Wirk. Her creation has a perfect semi-casual contemporary theme, but later on went to showcase something light, feminine and very summery.

John Abraham walked for Rocky S, dressed in a perfectly tailored grey suit he walked the ramp stealing many a hearts while girlfriend Bipasha Basu looked in admiration. Rocky S gave women's wear a miss this year and created a Gothic punk look for the men.

Prateik Babbar, the award winning actor for his brilliant performance on ‘Jaane Tu Yaan Jaane Na’ was the showstopper for Kunal Rawal’s collection, Cuba where he was dressed in a cream suit and tunic.

On the other hand we had Shreyas Talpade who made a traditional entry on the ramp. The finale outfit that he donned was a dusty brown piped kurta with an overlapping collar for Digvijay Singh. His line of organic unisex outfits was casual yet comfortable.

Apart from walking the ramp, stars were seen sitting in the audiences cheering and admiring  the collections. Spotted were Hema Malini, Genelia D’souza, Gul Panag, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Atbaaz Khan, Minisha Lamba, Celina Jaitley, Preeeti Jhangiani, Amrita Rao, Urmila Matondkar, Shabana Azmi, Riya Sen, Mahadevan and Bhagyashree, Meghna Reddy, Sanjay Suri, Madhoo.

Truely, with so many stars from Bollywood assembling for a show, this was one Fashion Week which will surely be talked about in days to come.
