The play 'Ustaad' was written by eminent playwright Shaker Ali Chowdhary and was about contribution of a teacher who rendered all of his life for dispersion of education in tribals.
TO DEVELOP artistic skills and creativity among the nomadic Gujjar children up to the age of 15, a week long Production Oriented Children Theatre Workshop was organised by Tribal Research and Cultural Foundation from May 22, concluded here today with presentation of a Gojri play “Loo” at Gujjar Basti, Near RS Pura, this afternoon.

Twenty five children participated in this play and it was directed by Mushtaq Kak, a reputed theatre director of India.
Speaking at the concluding function, Dr. Javaid Rahi, Secretary Tribal Foundation said in order to promote education among nomadic children through theatre skills, the foundation has regularly been organising a number of events every year in the state and this workshop is a part of efforts aiming the educational and mental development of tribal and marginalized children.
Dr. Javaid Rahi further said that Tribal Foundation with the help of North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala is planning to hold a series of theatre workshops in tribal localities of Jammu and Kashmir in a highly professional manner.The main objectives of these workshops would be to give boost to basic education and to develop a since of confidence among nomadic Gujjar kids.
Mushtaq Kak, the director of the workshop said that this was his 2nd encounter with nomadic Gujjar children of state. Kak said he is very happy to note that tribal children are very capable and they are full of energy, which can be channelised for over all development of nomadic and suppressed communities. He hoped that some talented children, who participated in this workshop would be cast in TV plays also.
Those who participated in the play included Amin Ali Khatana, Mohammad Rafeeq chouhan, Rashid Ahmed Poswal, Mohammad Rafiq Boken, Diawaar Hussain Khatana, Dilmer , Hasham, Khadam,Dilsheer, Khadam Hussain, Rahim Ali and others.
