There is no place for Dalits in Modi's heart, says Rahul Gandhi
With regards to the existing SC/ST Act and reservation issue, the Dalit organizations have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Congress President Rahul Gandhi and CPM leader Sitaram Yechury also joined the demonstration. Rahul Gandhi launched a new salvo against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech.

"There is no place for Dalits in head, heart and thought of Modiji," Gandhi said. He said that the Congress has always protected the SC/ST Act and will continue to do so.

Dalit organizations protesting at Jantar Mantar are also demanding the release of their leader arrested on criminal charges during the Bharat bandh held in April this year.

Taking on the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi said that the Supreme Court judge who had ruled 'diluting' of the provisions of the SC/ST atrocities Act had been rewarded by PM Modi.

While accusing the Prime Minister of being anti-Dalit, Gandhi said that Narendra Modi thinks that Dalits should not have place in any field of society.

Amongts their many demands, the Dalit organizations protesting at Jantar Mantar have demanded that the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh should give a public statement over the issue of atrocities on Dalits.
