However incredulous this may sound but it is true as baby June was still in her mother's womb when her mother, Amber, ran the marathon and gave birth to June just hours later.
PREGNANCY IS a time when a women’s body undergoes a number of changes. Although some people are advised to get into a light exercise regimen at the beginning of their term in pregnancy mostly everyone is asked to rest as soon as they reach their third trimester. What made 39 weeks pregnant Amber Miller to take part in a marathon in the US is difficult to say. Ironically, this would also be referred to her baby’s first marathon.

The women in Chicago, who managed to complete this massive task of running 26.2 miles, is an athlete, reported USA Today, and within hours of completing the marathon she gave birth to her second child June. Incredibly, this is a common practise for Amber as she also ran a marathon when she was pregnant with her son Caleb. Sheer foolhardiness, courage or the fact that they have such good medical facilities might be one of the reasons for Amber’s taking risks each time while running a marathon.
When asked, however, this mother of two said that she ran because for the simple reason that she and her husband had signed up for the same. While running she said that she felt the contractions but thought it to be natural. However, when it started coming in regular intervals then they knew that the chase to the hospital was the need of the hour. Amber said that the marathon was a cakewalk when compared to labour. People reading this should not attempt anything of the sort as different people have different constitution, and there is no need to actually risk the life of a baby for a marathon.
