It’s a good old Disney kind of a movie with a lot of pyaar and magic. It is the first film of Kohli as a producer as well as director.

The story goes like this - once upon a time there was a young boy called Ranbeer who gets orphaned at a very tender age. He is a star student in the boarding school, winning all the prizes up for grabs. He loses everyone he loves, his parents, teachers and his childhood sweetheart too.

Saif Ali Khan plays the role of the older Ranbeer, a high-profile businessman, getting awards across the board and sweeping off women off their feet. One fateful night, his car runs into another one and the Walias who are in the other car die, resulting in Ranbeer’s arrest and the bereavement of the four Walia children.

Instead of a prison sentence, Ranbeer is assigned the responsibility of the four children, financially as well as emotionally for a three month trial period. Should Ranbeer fail, the prison awaits him.

Obviously the kids – Vasisht, Avantika, Aditi and Iqbal are raring to go for a revenge and thus agree to move in with Ranbeer. It isn’t a smooth sailing for Ranbeer and one evening they all look up to the almighty god for help.

Rishi Kapoor plays the role of an all-dressed-in-white god, who is surrounded by a cluster of female angels. After hearing their prayers, he sends off his favourite angel, Geeta - played by Rani Mukherjee, to make the orphans and their new guardian learn to love each other.

The story takes a U turn as Geeta enters their lives as a nanny and stays on with them as their didi. The movie’s plot is predictable, yet there aren’t any ridiculous twists. Despite the fictitious storyline, Kohli sticks to the basic formula of a family entertainer with a mixture of fun and fantasy. The movie has a safe and steady script.

Saif Ali Khan is a delight to watch in his character that transitions from the stone hearted bachelor into a soft person. The transformation is believable and the chemistry with the child artists is as real as it gets.

Rani Mukherjee as Geeta, fits very well into the role of an angel who is chirpy and does manage to steer clear of Bollywood’s annoying good-girl portrayal of anything divine.

Saif and Rani share a great on-screen chemistry. Even Ranbeer’s girlfriend Malaika, played by Amisha Patel, won’t disappoint the fathers of kids who have come along to watch the movie.

The best part of the movie is the chemistry shared by the child artists. It is magnificent. Their timing is wonderful and performances are pure and genuine. The performances of the kids ranging from 5-11 years are the unique selling proposition (USP) of the movie.

Although the music of the film hasn’t received real good reviews with the exception of ’Lazy Lamhe’, it serves the purpose of fitting into the framework of a good Bollywood musical.

Go watch it but don’t forget to take your kids.
