Three CRPF personnel were killed in a landmine blast in Orissa caused by the Naxal terrorists engaged in attacking the security forces and government establishments. The bodies of the three were sent to Visakhapatnam.
THREE OFFICIALS belonging to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were killed in Malakangiri Village (MV-66) near Gampakonda power project on the way to Malakangiri on Friday (November 13) in Orissa, during the early hours.
The three personnel were identified as Deputy Commandant - Bhupendra Singh, Driver – Narendra Kumar, Jawan – Sunil Kumar. Bodies of these officials will be sent to thier native villages in Himachal Pradesh.
According to the police, the vehicle in which Deputy Commandant, the constable and the driver were traveling was blown apart by the Maoist. The landmine blast was so powerful that the vehicle was thrown into the air for about 20 feet and turned in to pieces. The road where the accident took place was also completely damaged.
The incident happened, when the armed police headquarter was being shifted from Kolab to Koraput.
