Three-day conference on entrepreneurship held in Ahmedabad
A three-day conference on entrepreneurship was held at Entrepreneurial Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, Gujarat during February 20-22, 2019 on the topic 'Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Economic Development: A Systematic Review and Research Agenda' in Ahemdabad, reported Prof MM Goel, Vice-Chancellor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur.

"We need to boost entrepreneurship with innovativeness among the Indian youth which is necessary for attaining economic development of India but sadly not sufficient.  To make it sufficient, Government of India and the 29 States and 7 UTs needs to promote social entrepreneurship which will not only create benefit for their venture but also have a positive impact on the society by promoting innovation and sustainable development," said Dr Sanchita Bansal, Assistant Professor, University School of Management, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University while addressing the conference at EDII.

Entrepreneurship creates a roadmap to regional development and promotes innovation in rural areas, thereby contributing towards economic development, told Dr Sanchita Bansal who specialize in women entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs are pivotal as agents who recognize opportunity, mobilise resources and create value to sustain economic development. The theory of economic development argues that economic development positions the economy on a higher-quality growth trajectory and is achieved through innovation and entrepreneurship, believes Dr Sanchita Bansal.
