Three-day kite festival in Jaipur to celebrate Makar Sankranti
The three-day kite festival, which kicked off in Jaipur will be at its peak on Sunday. The Kite Festival of Jaipur is one of the most-attended festivals, which is full of fun and frolic that attracts kite fliers from far off corners of the country as well as foreigners.

Kites of every shade of colour and size fill up the sky of Jaipur, which is a dazzling sight. Jaipur is marked by crowded rooftops with shouting, playing music and fun-loving rivalry of kite fights to outdo each other along with delicious feast of local sweets.

The Rajasthan Tourism Department gets involved with the kite festival for the both, the domestic and international tourists at a local stadium. Along with kite flying, kite fliers will also relish til laddoos, fini and gajak.

As the sun will set, the night festivities will start with the release of paper lamps and fascinating firework till night. This trend has picked up for the last few years.

Though the Chinese manjha has been banned on the directives from the National Green Tribunal, but it is being sold on the sly and some serious throat, nose and ear injuries and hospitalization of people has been reported.
