Three low budget films to hit silver screen on first Friday of February
The first Friday of February is going to be a memorable box office day. Not because it would be dominated by films of the 100-crore league, but because all the three films Mai, Listen Amaya and David are small budget and almost parallel films. As in every award function, it has been said time and again that Indian cinema is in an exciting time as both small films and large budget films can finally co-exist; this weekend will be a proof of that.

Mai, the acting debut of veteran singer Asha Bhosle, narrates the story of an old desolate mother, who suffers from Alzheimer and the complications leading henceforth. Directed by debutant Mahesh Kodiyal, Mai also features actors Ram Kapoor, Naveen Kaushik and Shivani Joshi. The film is about losing our family values in a time where we are leading a modern life. This is a must watch film for the subject, which reminds us of the importance of parents in our life.

The other film, Listen Amaya, directed by debutant director Avinash Kumar Singh, tells the tale of Leela Krishnamurthy, played by actress Deepti Naval and Amaya played by actress Swara Bhaskar. Listen Amaya is also in line to be screened at the 15th London Asian Film Festival in March. The film would also revisit the reel life of lovely Farooq Sheikh and Deepti Naval after a long time.

The third film on offer, action-thriller David by Bejoy Nambiar, stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani and Isha Sharvani. Its story is set in three different time periods and the plot revolves around the three different men named David.
