Three tribals killed in Orissa
A visit to the village Sanagumma reveals one Sunadhar Bhumia (30 years) from a middle class family was summoned by some miscreants in the name CPI(Maoists) to appear before their local court. His dead body was found in the forest the next day.

MATHILI POLICE are yet to nab the culprits involved in the triple murder from one family of Sanagumma village under the Kartanapalli gram panchayat in Mathili block of Malkangiri district of Orissa. A visit to the village Sanagumma reveals one Sunadhar Bhumia (30 years) from a middle class family was summoned by some miscreants in the name CPI(Maoists) to appear before their local court. The innocent tribal youth Sunadhar left his village on June 3 for another village Dhakudarasi which was located 10km away.

His dead body was found in the forest near that village the very next day, that is June 4. The sarapanch of Kartanapalli gram panchayat, Phulamati Jiram, Sunadhar's mother Samari Bhumia and her two other sons Mukunda Bhumia and Kamallochan Bhumia, reported the incident to the police on June 7, but the police took no action to nab the criminals who killed Sunadhar Bhumia. All they did was to send the dead body for postmortem. On June 9, Mukunda Bhumia and Kamallochan Bhumia were also killed (it is suspected) by the same miscreants because of their involvement in reporting their brother's murder to the police. The miscreants also warned their mother Samari Bhumia and Sunadhar's wife Radha Bhumia to leave their village and their whereabouts are presently not known. Local people told the visiting reporter that if the police had taken immediate action on receipt of the complaint on June 7, the other two murders could have been averted.

When contacted, the Inspector-in-charge, Mathili police Station, confirmed the triple murder from one family, however he said he refused to go to the village out of fear as the area is completely dominated by Naxalites. In a meeting held on July 20, the CPI(Maoists) condemned the brutal killing of the three tribals from one family and confirmed having no involvement of the CPI(Maoists). The Superintendent of Police, Malkangiri Subrat Bhoi, told the criminals that those who involved in these triple murder would be taken to task within the shortest period during their visits.
