The bizarre incident occurred on Sunday (August 9), during Bridgestone invitational PGA Tour when during the play Padraig Harrington and Tiger Woods were placed on the clock at the par-516th, owing to which Harrington hit three intricate shots that gave him triple bogey. After the play, Tiger Woods criticised the European Tour Chief referee while addressing the press and raised questions on PGA Tour rules and Guidelines. He said referring to European Tour Chief referee-John Paramor, “Iam sorry that John got in the way of a great battle.”
The section VI-D of the PGA Tour’s player’s handbook reads, “It is an obligation of membership to refrain from comments to the news media that unreasonably attack or disparage tournaments, sponsors, fellow members, players, or PGA Tour.” The leading golfer according to sports analysts has been caught this time under section VI-D of the PGA Tour’s Player’s handbook.
Currently world number one, Tiger Woods has won fourteen professional major golf tournaments/championship, the second highest in the history of golf and 70 PGA Tour Events. But this time he is in the dock for the wrong reason.
