Time to ban liquor across the country
Society would gain immensely if the alcohol consumption is pushed to minimum across the country or alternatively, if it is banned completely, health aspect of average citizens would soar up unexpectedly.

POLICY MAKERS can do well to initiate a debate on this issue regarding banning of alcohol consumption throughout the country. Recently, former Union Minister for Health, A. Ramadoss had successfuly initiated steps for banning of smoking in public places and this step seemed to be working properly in many places, thereby enahcing the health index of average person.

With alcohol ban, there would be big jump in the average health index of the common man throughout the country. Many housewives would simply jump in joy upon hearing this news. However, one point to be noted here is some advanced countries had tried this method and though they got a good success rate in terms of health index, but at the same time, a few anti-social elements started indulging in production and distributon of alcohol clandestinely.

Therefore, while debating this issue, this point also needs to be considered and this issue can be controlled only by adequate security measures to ckeck on illegal production.

Even if the ban is initiated, it would be a welcome step. One thing is for sure - gains that would follow, would be immense for the country as a whole.
