Time to stand up for Anna Hazare and stand against corruption
Anna Hazare has undertaken a fast unto death for the introduction of a Jan Lokpal Bill (Anti Corruption Bill) to probe, prosecute and recover from the corrupt who have been plundering the nation for years.
WITHIN THIS context I would like to draw you heartfelt attention to the following facts, which I believe every citizen of this country would be experiencing in his day-to-day life:

1. All-round deterioration and degradation of the society, law & order situation and governance standards.

2. Consistent increase in tax burden on honest tax payers.

3. Bribes and considerations without which we cannot get anything done at any level. From the government sector, this evil is slowly spreading to the private sector also.

4. Dual standards in all walks of life. A different set of rules for the rich and affluent and (generally) the opposite for the common man or the aam-aadmi.

5. Any position dealing with public funds/revenue is today usurped by the corrupt and dishonest. Look at the way all sports promotion councils, boards and associations have been taken over by various lobbies.

6. The taxes paid by us are wasted or plundered as if it is the ancestral wealth of the people in power.

7. A honest tax payer is accountable for everything and on the slightest error on his part, he is penalised with fines & penalties.

On the contrary, there is no mechanism to recover the losses made to the exchequer (by the people in power) through sheer wastage, inefficiency or scams, which have become so common these days.

Neither is there any transparency in the way the public funds are utilised.

8. Of late, when some scams got exposed (thanks to RTI, a vigilant media and an active Supreme Court) – those in power are found going all out to cover up the scams and protect the very offenders.

9. The corrupt have realized the immense potential in carrying out their plundering of the nation business – thanks to a greedy set of politicians and sarkari babus on the one side and the “I don’t care as long as I am not affected” attitude of the majority of our citizens.

It has reached such alarming proportions that today such corrupt people have controlling stakes in most political parties, and have also usurped positions that enjoy constitutional immunity from prosecution!

They treat looting the nation as their birth right and stall all attempts to change the rules or implement laws to bring in good governance.

The issue of corruption has become so deep rooted that it will require a lengthy and tireless campaign to do a cleansing process and re-engineering of our political systems/processes for offering good governance.

The root-cause analysis reveals a startling and surprising reason as a major cause for today's situation, and that is:

"We are ourselves the reason! We the people of India have forgotten that we are the rightful stakeholders of this country, and have all the constitutional safeguards to protect our ownership rights."

"However, each of us (at some point of time) has chosen to break the rules for our personal comfort or gain or advantage. The cumulative effect of these actions of ours (seeking petty short-term gains) has transformed our society to what it is now."

Today is the opportunity for each one of us to offer penance for our deeds by:

1. Praying for the good health and success of the campaign of Shri Anna Hazare and all those brave hearts who are fasting unto death with him in various parts of the country.

2. Come forward and offer our solidarity in the fight against corruption.

3. To inculcate National Prestige (country first!) in ourselves and also within our family and friends circle.

4. To never succumb to any attempts to seek personal considerations from public
servants for any of our needs.

5. We shall never ever break any rule for our personal comfort and gains and thereby put Anna Hazare and others efforts to go waste.

6. We shall not ever vote for anybody with poor integrity or background. How can we entrust the country in the hands of incompetent people with no proven background on ethics and integrity after going through this terrible phase.

7. We have always lived for our selves, let us now spend some time for the nation building and cleaning exercise. If we leave it to others, we can be sure of a similar experience as to what we are facing today.

Is it not our moral responsibilities to correct the outcome of our mistakes and hand over a corruption-free India to our coming generations?

all political parties are corrupt they think first about themself not for our country. i have sen many cases with my eyes and i dont believe that this is in india tell me one thing that the minister announces the relief fund for needee people but is this true or this is only in paper?
DELHI GOVT SCAM Hold a Delhi Jal Board bill and attempt to pay it at jeevandelhi.gov.in . The payment form requires 4 parameters, not accepted in printed bill format. An old announcement from cash counter : Jal board ko saare computer Shiela Dixit ke bete ne supply kiye huye hain aur kaam nahin karte. Is liye chhe chhe mahine ka bill ikathaa aata hai. Does the same apply also to Jeevan scam, perhaps owned by his infotech company? GOVT OF INDIA SCAM NDNC is central body. NDNC registration is deactivated on portabilty of mobile number. As per NDNC website, SMS "START DND" to 1909. Just try and find how DUFFERS manage the website. A Raja gone made scapegoat but Kapil Sibal and Manmohan Singh are minting money from telecom loot.
Yes, it is not only our moral responsibility but we are also answerable to posterity if do not get our country rid of this cancerous disease.

Yesterday I was watching the NDTV24x7 here in the UK chaired by Barkha Dutt. The subject was Mr Anna Hazare's fast on corruption in Indian politics on Jan Lokpal bill. Where views were asked from some politicians including Kapil Sibbel. When she asked him to express his opinion then Kapil Sibbel showed his innocence as if nothing happened and showed surprise why this fast is taking place. Also NSC is not a part of any govt and they can take any suggestion from civil society and then he claimed to take them further. He said that he is open to dialogue and further told that he is willing to break impasses. He claimed, "we dealt with????terrorist????organisation and across the border and the process was to have the dialogue". So he is comparing this fast at par with terrorists' demands that he had claimed to resolve through dialogue. Finally, he started showing his anger that why she (Barkha) is asking such questions. He asked what are charges against him. And Barkha Dutt was unable to react on that. Why? Can't she could say that the charge against him is that he saw no wrong doing in the 2G spectrum and later what came out is not hidden from the nation. My question is can we trust these journalists ? They are so vocal with common men but when it come to deal with corrupt officials and politicians I have not seen them to take any strong stand for the nation. They appear too vocal when asking questions from less literate politicians like Lalu but when a more civilised (in appearance) politician (in this case Kapil Sibbel) shows his anger personally , she gets intimidated and do not show such interest of fulfilling their duty as journalist. Why? Are they taking personal favour from them? Why they have two parameters when it come to deal with corrupt people?
Officers are also responsible for corruption As Mr. Anna Hazare has started the movement against corruption, let me pose a question to public, especially to *young graduates*. Many graduates have strong interest in passing out exams like M.P.S.C. / U.P.S.C. which enables them to become officers like I.A.S. officers. But for 45 years, at least, we are witnessing malpractices, corruption in the government - in spite of these educated officers. This is why I never thought of becoming an officer in the government and today also, five years after retirement, I don't think it was my mistake. In my opinion, not only ministers but *officers* are also *equally responsible* for the corruption.
ANNA HAZARE GO AHEAD WE ARE WITH YOU
EVERY town in India has a sex racket run by a magistrate, a revenue officer (ITO/STO), a police officer, some teachers and politicians. Sex racket members receive instant employment and speedy promotions - particularly as special police officer and girls' hostel warden.
The fast of Anna Hazare is the manifestation of a long-suppressed anger of the people against the corruption of politicians and their cronies. All honest citizens of India should come forward to strengthen the efforts of this selfless leader and give expression to their longing for clean politics in India.
AN EXCELLENT EFFORT TO MAKE THE COUNTRY CLEAN FROM CORRUPTION, I STRONGLY SUPPORT FOR INTRODUCTION OF THE BILL AND WISH TO SUPPORT AT MY LEVEL WHAT EVER I CAN. WISHING FOR GREAT SUCCESS!
