Tinted glasses will remain tinted, why the fuss?
This is meant to be a satire on the government's dilly dallying with the issue of banning vehicles with tinted glasses in the State of Meghalaya.

“I AM thinking of those vehicles with tinted glasses,” he said with a nonchalance which seemed to undermine his statement. Vehicles with tinted glasses were nothing new; to me, at least.

“So what about them?” I asked credulously. “They had been banned,” he said with an emphatic grin.

“I know, but they have retracted upon their decision, haven’t they?” I asked prompting him to say more on subject.

“But they should have stuck to it,” this with a pomposity which irked me.

“Who knows what confabulations go on, in these dicey days, people could be planning bomb attacks indulging in shady money transaction.”

“Oh, come off it,” I said. “The law makers sometimes act as law breakers. If you make a rule then after a few days go back on it, what is the fun of framing such rules?”

“Nothing nothing,” he replied. “Now, who do you think are the ‘they’ we were referring to?”

“The Aam Admi?” I asked with trepidation wondering what the dialogue would now lead to!

No the Aam Politician, the Aam you and Aam me – the Aam of Aams. Look, I said instead of playing around with words, why don’t you go and donate some alms to the poor?
