Sunny days during the spring and summer offer opportunities to use the light of the sun directly for flare photography with partial silhouettes. But, the best thing to do the spot metering and making the camera to expose a part or centre of the shot rather than the whole photo.
When this is done, it leads the portion of the photo blown out rather than giving the overexposed background. If, you are a well-equipped photographer, you can use external power full light get the flare along a clear picture of the subject or the scene.
Provide a focal lock by pointing the camera at your subject with Sun behind the subject and then move to the position for composing the shot with lens flare.
Adjust the depth of field and shutter speed of the camera for the flare to stand out and provide an interest element to the shot.
Best thing to experiment a bit by playing with the subject and surrounds to get the sun to cause nice lens flare as is clear from the inset pictures.
