RECENTLY I got an opportunity to go through some of the best selling books on better marketing managements, quality management, getting things done easily, spiritual awakening, philosophical mould of mindset, and achieving goals with target setting, to name a few.
Honestly, I did not read a single book till the last page because many things mentioned in each book were beyond my comprehension and was going above my head while attempting to read in totality. However, I did manage to browse some of the relevant pages from each of these books – believe me, it takes lots of time to absorb the key inputs mentioned in each of these books with proper understanding.
1. People who have achieved extra ordinary status in the society have made it possible because they allowed themselves to “travel that extra mile”. By “putting in extra efforts” or “travelling that extra mile” a person can easily be differentiated
But such things do not happen frequently with everyone. However, by taking the trouble to “walk that extra mile” one can be assured of meeting with big success. Therefore parents can do well to educate children to “walk that extra mile” in a
competitive environment to get wonderful results in anything they are striving to do.
2. “Treating each problem as a challenge”. If problems are treated as problems, many a time solutions found would only be touching the surface of the problem. This would mean the problem would again crop up for not getting solved correctly.
However, if a problem is taken as a challenge, this would induce a child to go to the root of the cause of the problem for better understanding of the whole issue so that solutions can be found out for permanently erasing the problem once for all.
Therefore, parents can do well to educate children to treat “each problem as a challenge”, which would help the children think positively for going to the bottom of the issue for getting rid of it.
3. The biggest obstacles to enjoying happiness are “greed” and “fear”. In other words, happiness will always follow a person “who is not greedy” and “who is not afraid”. On the reverse, if a person is “greedy” and “fearful”, happiness may evade him or stay away from him. Therefore, parents can do well to educate children “not to be greedy” and “not to be afraid” under any situation so that the children can enjoy happiness in big measure in their life span, both in their personal life and in their professional career.
