In the backdrop of the cartoon controversy and sedition charges against cartoonist of Aseem Trivedi, whilst it is obvious for all of us to very angry when we see the 'Iron' hands of the State; and whilst everyone of us are deeply angry within ourselves with the way our nation is governed by the greedy and shameless politicians - most of us expresses our anger in the manner we deem.
BUT YOU know, our every response, to this deeply corrupt governance, must be guided by an objective test, and that is – does my response generate “hope of revival” from this rotten system? If not, we must think again to about response.
Mere condemnation generates more pessimism within the prevailing rotten system, and our politicians are very happy with these kinds of condemnations. At the same time, it is expedient to clarify my views as, exposing ill deeds of “men in power” is not the same as condemnation.
Institutions don’t degenerate due to the degeneration of “temporary” people occupying the Institution. Institutions are always solemn and pure. This may sound very philosophical. But, if you study the processes of democracy, you will realize that the processes of democracy is no less than a philosophy.
While, by no means I support the illegal arrest of Aseem Trivedi, I believe, we should all try to become 'Positive Cartoonists'.
