To Indian golfers to compete at Louis Philippe Cup
The second edition of Louis Philippe Cup, an awaited event in the Indian golf calendar, is scheduled to start from February 13 at Jaypee Greens Golf resort, Greater Noida. Top Indian golfers are lined up for the event, where winner walks away with prize money of Rs 1.24 crores.

NIKHIL KALAAN, the media manager for Professional Golf Tour of India said, “All top Indian players are going to be present in the competition, except Arjun Atwal.” Other top Indian golfers who would be gracing the event are Jyoti Randhawa, Abhinav Lohan, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Vijay Kumar, Jeev Milkha Singh and Abhijit Chadha.

Nine teams - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Greater Noida, Noida and Gurgaon – are taking part in the championship. The tournament will end on 16 February.

Rishi Narain, promoter and owner of Louis Phillipe Cup, explains the format in which the game will be played. “During the first two days, it is going to be played in strokeplay format, where the respective team scores are added up after playing for two days. After that the top four teams which will reach the semifinals, will be involved in knockout contests. Three individual team players play against one another in the match day,” he said.

In the first edition of the tournament, it was Ahmedabad that walked away with the title. Expect them to come out all guns blazing this year as well. Their team members include an impressive trio of players, Vikrant Chopra, Vinod Kumar and Mithun Perera. Noida boats of players like Jeev Milkha Singh, Abhijit Chadha, and Ashok Kumar while Gurgaon also has a good line up with players like Jyoti Randhawa, Abhinav Lohan and Digvijay Singh.
