Tony Kanaan crashes second car in IndyCar practice
Tony Kanaan, who had been practicing for the upcoming qualifier over the weekend, had crashed his primary car into the wall on Saturday, while he had taken his backup car back in pieces after an hour's practice on Sunday.

AFTER RACER Tony Kanaan crashed the second time in less than 24 hours, his team Andretti is fast working on getting him back in condition for the Indianapolis track. Al Larsen, team spokesman said that the team was currently putting together a car for him, out of his two crashed cars.

Tony Kanaan, who had been practicing for the upcoming qualifier over the weekend, had crashed his primary car into the wall on Saturday, while he had taken his backup car back in pieces after an hour's practice on Sunday.

John Andretti, the team owner, expects the car to be ready and Kanaan back on track by mid afternoon. He said, "They were talking about being ready by noon and being out there for practice this afternoon, so they're probably going through the tech line right now and will be talking to you in a couple of hours.

While Sunday's crash was seen by many as a replay of the one of Saturday, the IndyCar Series winner in 2004, was able to climb out his wrecked vehicle without assistance. His back up car had gone spinning out of the first turn, with the rear end hitting the outside wall. Tony Kanaan skidded through the short chute on first and second turns, spun again and slammed into the outside wall again.

With the final qualifier looming close on Sunday, Andretti team is fast trying to put Kanaan back on track, even though two car wrecks have been a dampner. They are hoping that he gets the pole position and barring further car trouble, the favorite could get it too.

Meanwhile, team mate Danica Patrick seems to have composed back after her emotional outpour near the Gasoline Alley on Saturday. The IndyCar glamor girl driver had blamed her poor hand at the qualifier on the team's setup of her car. Today, she said, "I was a little emotional yesterday and I know we had some issues. I was still shaking when I did the interview because we were on a very, very ragged edge out there."
