THE SMARTPHONE line by Apple called iPhone came into being in January 2007, after several rumours and speculations. It became an instant hit with the TIME agazine even labelling it as the invention of the year. Now on its third generation, the iPhone overall sales of 33.75 million have made it the third largest selling phone manufacturer, after Nokia and Samsung.
This Christmas Day it is time to make a list of the top ten iPhone applications in UK. The list is headed by the Electricpig iPhone application which lets people find the best deals on all gadgets, apart from latest reviews and news. Music based applications like Spotify and Beaterator are also here, apart from the BBC iPlayer. Games like Super Monkey Ball 2, Doom Classic and Paper toss are also up here. The top ten Christmas day iPhone applications are:

It will also get all the latest news and reviews on gadgets. 2. Spotify iPhone app - This music add-on will let users sync offline playlists over Wi-Fi and access thousands of tunes. Super Monkey Ball 2 - This 3D graphics loaded iPhone game by Sega is a must have for all iPhone users, as it combines gaming with the Apple smartphone touchscreen. 4. Beaterator iPhone app - This Rockstar application is a music making mash up, produced with Timbaland. It is a full on tune machine rather than a game, allowing users to create their own tracks when they wish to while away time. 5. Doom Classic - This classic 90s shooter game, has the same old story with the same levels, but has upgraded to a better to an easy control interface, as well as allowing a multi player segment through the iPhone Wi Fi connection. 6. Paper Toss iPhone app - A very popular application, this free game is all about using the touchscreen to flick balls of paper into the bin, with a fan at your side giving varying wind speed. The hardest level is really tough to conquer. 7. Right Move iPhone app - This real estate and property based application helps users to search properties by post code, giving users all important information like the price, detailed pictures and contact details for the same. 8. CoPilot Live iPhone app - ALK’s CoPilot Live iPhone app is a darn sight cheaper than the TomTom alternative. At just £26 it’s a steal and comes with music controls, so you can access the iPhone’s iPod while you’re driving. Plus its maps are pretty handy too. 9. Photoshop iPhone app - Even though the newest iPhone model by Apple may have just a 3.2 megapixel camera, but this application would allow users to crop, rotate and even filter pictures just like the PC version. BBC iPlayer - Though the official BBC iPlayer iPhone application isn’t due until next year, users have been queing up at the BBC iPlayer web page now to add a shortcut of this application on their iPhone homescreen, accessing both the TV and radio till the full version comes by in 2010.
