Top Naxal Leader Gola Ramullu alia Madhav Killed in Encounter
A top maoist leader Gola Ramullu alias Madhav alias Sridhar who carried Rs. 4 lakhs reward on his head was killed in an encounter with security forces in Malkangiri - Koraput districts on Friday. A joint team of Special Operation Group (SOG) and police from Malkangiri and adjoining Koraput district during coming operation in the forest near Chiliba village forest area under Machhkund police station limits of Koraput district was killed.

It was war like situation and gun battled continued for about 30 minutes in between the maoist and security force during which, Madhav, a senior member of Andhra Pradesh - Orissa border of Malkangiri Maoist Divisional committee got killed and four other members of maoist part narrowly escaped, the police sources said.  Police also seized a hand grenade and a pistol from the site.  

Madhav was a most wanted maoist leader in Odisha and his killing was a major success for the police force.  He was involved in many incidence of murder including the killing of 38 security personnel in Chitrakonda reservoir.  Extortion and mine blast were the main charges against him.  He played a vital role in a sensational abduction of the then Malkangiri Dist. Collector Vineen Krishna.

In Koraput district he was involved in a blast case on 18-03-2012 near Alangpada village, damaging Airtel mobile tower under Machhkund police limits of Koraput district.  Madhav also involved for the sensational killing of Boarder Security Force commandant along with three other in Chitrakonda of Malkangiri district last year, carried a reward of Rs. 10 Lakhs from Odisha governement.  

The police team also recovered his diary as well as kit bag from the site.  Madhav has been active in the area of Chitrakonda under Malkangiri district attracting tribals by singing revolutionary songs.  "His death is a major relief for us", said senior police officer.

According to the press release by the police, Madhav, son of Pentaya was a resident of Gopalpur police station and Pangala of district Mehboobnagar of Andhra Pradesh.  The body was sent for postmortem to the District Headquarter Hospital, Koraput.  Today (24-08-13), Mr. Barbar Rao, revolutionary poet of Hyderabad, spoke to this Citizen Journalist over phone and told that, his (Madhav's) relatives left Hyderabad to receive the dead body today evening or tomorrow.  The dead body will be taken to his native place, Mr. Barbar Rao confirmed.
