The Jain Society of Toronto (JSOT) has been established with objectives to provide a forum for Jains in Canada to observe and perform various activities related to Jainism; to preserve Jain culture for future generations; and to promote fellowship among all Jains, informs the website.
The JSOT actively engages itself in promoting Ahimsa and ecological tenets of Jainism in Canada. The Jain Centre, run by the society, has a large prayer hall, library, stages for cultural and religious activities, convening area for pathshala, meetings, cooking and collective eating.
