Toronto receives King Khan with royal welcome

Being aware that their guest was none other than the King Khan of Bollywood, Toronto's Fairmont Royal York hotel made sure that all preparations were made at a grand level.

THE KING of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan was received with a grand welcome at Fairmont Royal York hotel in Toronto yesterday. Hundreds of Shak Rukh fans waited patiently for the arrival of their favourite Bollywood star. Many of the fans had taken an off from office to meet their favourite star. Their long wait finally paid off when a casually dressed SRK entered the hotel and entertained them with a little jig act despite a knee injury.

Khan is in Toronto for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award and is due to perform tonight, his first performance at IIFA in the last seven years. This is not the first time that Shahrukh has received such grand treatment. He is considered the King of Hindi film industry, and is always given a royal reception. Earlier this year, when SRK visited Singapore for the Zee Cine Awards, where he received a warm welcome by the people of the country.

SRK’s visit to Ahmedabad earlier this month for the promotion of his upcoming film Ra.One was equally memorable. The superstar visited Cinemax multiplex in Dev-Arc mall, where he was met with loud cheers by thousands of his fans. The film has been produced under Red Chillies Entertainment banner. Besides King Khan, the film features Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The film was set to release on June 3, 2011, but the date was postponed due to delay in post-production work. Now, the release date has been shifted to October 26, 2011.
