Toyota Motor Corp. announced this afternoon recall of its 2010 Lexus GX 460. The Japanese automakers said last week that the company would halt production and sales of the vehicle after Consumer Reports issued a “don’t buy” recommendation on the 2010 Lexus GX 460.
The latest recall of Toyota Motors, 2010 Lexus GX 460 is about 6,000 vehicles that have been sold since the SUV went on sale in December. Toyota responded by halting sales of new GX 460s and conducting tests on all of its SUVs. The recall is the latest in a long list of technical issues plaguing the World's biggest Japanese automaker Toyota.
Toyota Motors also agreed to pay fine of $16.4 million on Monday for failing to properly report a safety problem with defective gas pedals. The Lexus GX is made at Toyota’s Tahara plant near the company’s headquarters in central Japan. Last week Mazda had issued a 90000 Mazda recall for the Mazda 3, a compact car over an oil hose issue that can lead to leaks in the pipe.
