TOYOTA MOTORS is recalling about 435,000 Prius and other hybrid vehicles worldwide to fix brake problem. Toyota Motors Corporation has recalled 8.5 million vehicles worldwide because of accelerator and floor mat problems. Pirus was not the part of earlier recalls. Prius recall comes on the earlier reports of faulty brakes in the hybrid car. Toyota Motor is working on repairing the software glitch that delays braking on the model in certain road conditions.

Since the launch of Prius in last year, it was Japan's top-selling car in 2009 and the world's most popular hybrid model. The latest recall of Prius models built before 27 January 2010. In addition to Toyota Motor's recalling 133,000 Prius 2010 models in the US, it will also recall 14,550 Lexus Division HS250h 2010 models to update software in the vehicle's anti-lock braking system. Nearly 53,000 Priuses are also being recalled in Europe.

Last week the US Transportation Department said that it was investigating the braking problems with Prius. The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration received 124 reports from drivers about it, including four of crashes. Toyota president Akio Toyoda apologized at his first public news conference last Friday for the current problems in Toyota Vehicles.
