The latest news and updates on Toyota Recall 2010: Toyota has started shipping parts to fix the faulty gas pedals that led to a recall of some of its models and a decision to stop their sales. The company however still cannot say when millions of drivers would get their cars fixed. The eight affected models of Toyota are the 2009-2010 RAV4, the 2009-2010 Corolla, the 2007-2010 Camry, the 2009-2010 Matrix, the 2005-2010 Avalon, the 2010 Highlander, the 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2008-2010 Sequoia. The 2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe, made by GM and Toyota in a joint venture, also has been recalled.
Other automakers said that even some of their accelerators are made by the same supplier but their models are not giving any problems. They stressed that Toyota’s problem was based on its unique specifications. The supplier, CTS Corp. of Elkhart, Ind., has started manufacturing replacement pedals for the affected models of Toyota. The Toyota engineers are said to be working with CTS to develop ways to repair rather than replace the pedals in the existing cars and trucks.
