CAR MAKER Toyota Motors' massive recall of vehicles due to a gas pedal problem, has affected 8.1 million vehicles worldwide. However, the carmaker is in a worse condition, as Toyota will face a congressional hearing next week regarding the faults with its acceleration pedals.
Toyota Motors is assuming that, it will lose 100,000 new vehicle sales due to the gas pedal recalls, with about 80,000 of these in North America only and the rest in Europe. The company has estimated on Tuesday that it lost 20,000 US sales due to the recall in January.
People are concerned about their car with the recent developments that are occurring with the gas pedal situation and the brakes. Toyota Prius brakes are being looked into in Japan and there US just announced they’ll be looking into these as well. Toyota Motors, which recalled and suspended sales of its market leading brands in the U.S. and UK has already sought the apology of its consumers for the concerns on a television interview.

Toyota Motors has sold 2.07 million vehicles during the October - December period. That was an increase of 227,000 from a year ago.
