Traffic police responsible for mess in Jammu city: SRS
Alleging that traffic police was responsible for what they called traffic mess in the city, Shri Ram Sena (SRS) Jammu-Kashmir has expressed serious concern over the inconvenience people have to face due to marathon traffic jams.

SINCE THE opening of civil secretariat in Jammu city, traffic jams have become a routine here, SRS said in a statement, alleging that police has failed to regulate traffic in the winter capital.

SRS state president Rajiv Mahajan said that traffic regulation lights have become only showpieces in Jammu city, as most of the traffic signals either have gone out of order or erroneously fixed timings for traffic management.

He further said that the number of vehicles has almost doubled after the secretariat opened in Jammu. The most aghast problem of traffic jam has resulted because of operators of mini buses, auto-rickshaws and buses who halt their vehicles haphazardly anywhere in the middle of the road to pick up and drop the passengers surpassing all the traffic norms at the behest of Traffic police.

Mahajan blamed that traffic police was a mute spectator to these unruly vehicle operators and is helpless to take action against these guilty operators because they receive consideration money from them in the name of entry, thereby putting the general public at great inconvenience.
